Scitech Scientifics microscopic slides can be used both for dry mounting and wet mounting.
- In dry mounting a thinly sliced section is put in the middle of the slide and then slid is put on top of the sample
- Wet mounts are usually used for living organisms and wet samples that contain water, glycerin, brine and immersion oil
- In a suction mount, an extremely thin cross-section of a specimen is used (cut using a micro-tome)
- Lastly in smear mount, a smear is made by carefully smearing a thin layer of a specimen across a slide and then by applying a coverslip on it.
